The Malvern area certainly has it's fair share of shops throughout different parts of the area. Darfield, being the centre of Malvern features the the service with the most variety of shops west of Christchurch's city such as a Pharmacy, Service Stations, Supermarkets, Stationary Shops, Fish 'n' Chips, Craft shops, Dairy's, Farming Supplies and much more.
Most of the townships from Yaldhurst through to Kumara feature little Dairys or Service Stations for refreshments or fuel whilst on your journey. Also unique craft shops are dotted around different townships featuring souvenirs based upon the area you are in e.g. Posters and Postcards of the Southern Alps and handcrafts from the local craftspeople.
All of the shops are worth stopping for a look around or a bite to eat. You are guaranteed to learn alot about the Great Alpine Highway Region on your travels. |
